About Our Partner
- RTE

GIY’s partnership with RTÉ has created two impactful TV series: “GROW, COOK, EAT” and “Food Matters.” “Food Matters,” aired on RTÉ One, delves into Ireland’s food sustainability and its food system’s role in the climate crisis. Host Michael Kelly traverses Ireland, engaging with various stakeholders like farmers and activists, to dissect the food system’s intricacies and its environmental toll. Each episode dissects themes like soil health and food waste, suggesting actionable solutions for food sustainability.

“Grow, Cook, Eat,” co-hosted by Michael Kelly with Karen O’Donohoe, is an episodic journey focusing on individual vegetables from seeding to harvest, aimed at gardeners of all skill levels. It combines gardening wisdom with community initiatives and concludes with guest chefs crafting dishes with the featured produce.

Both series underscore the movement towards food autonomy and highlights the environmental and health benefits of cultivating and consuming locally-grown foods.
