Meet the Team
During her time at the University of Limerick, Katie spent 8 months at GIY as a Marketing Intern. She loved it so much that, after graduating in 2023 with a degree in Business and Spanish, she decided to return. She is proud of the work GIY do and thrilled to be part of such an inspiring team.
Katie is now an Education Coordinator and loves getting involved with schools, helping to inspire the next generation of growers, and learning how to grow food from the best- Mary and Richard!
In her spare time, Katie is in a band called Bonya and enjoys gigging with them on the weekends.
“The best part of my job is getting out into schools and communities, seeing first-hand the impact GIY has. Watching children light up as they grow their own food is incredibly rewarding. It’s a real reminder of why what we do matters.”
Our food system is broken and at GIY we believe that nurturing a real connection to where our food comes from is the key to fixing it.
We're on a mission to inspire a global movement of food growers, one GIYer at a time.
