As we welcome a younger flock to the GIY Farm to help keep GROW HQ supplied with fresh eggs, some of our hardworking hens are ready for a well-earned retirement.
These Rhode Island Red hybrid hens have spent the last two years at Curraghmore Estate, enjoying organic feed, plenty of outdoor space, and the high welfare standards that are central to everything we do at GIY. Many of them even featured in Our Farm - A GIY Story.
While they're past their peak laying years, these healthy hens can continue producing eggs for another 3-5 years, making them a great addition to a garden flock, smallholding, or anyone looking to keep chickens at home.
