SuperValu and GIY are passionate about supporting homegrown fruit and veg, now and for the future. The more homegrown our food is, the better for everyone. That’s why we have teamed up to deliver Let’s GROW, a free initiative enabling 50,000 kids across Ireland to develop food literacy and experience the wonder of growing your own food.
The SuperValu Let’s GROW Kits will be delivered directly to your school in early March in time for spring planting.
Each kit includes:
- 5x seed varieties (Cress, Peas, Salad Leaves, Sunflowers and ‘Purple Queen’ French Beans)
- 32x compostable pots
- 32x magic compost discs
- 1x resource booklet with growing guides, lessons and activities
- Loads more classroom goodies!
There’s a world of magic beneath our feet just waiting to be discovered. From small seeds, great food will grow. We all just need to get our hands dirty.

Please note: By registering your interest it is not guaranteed that you will receive a kit. Kits are distributed on a first come, first served basis (whilst stock lasts), and limited to 2 classroom kit per school.

What is SuperValu Let’s GROW?

What does the pack include?
The pack includes everything schools need to start growing their own vegetables. It seeds, provides compost discs, pots for growing, and teacher resource packs with curriculum-linked lesson plans and activities.
How does SuperValu Let’s GROW benefit schools and students?
SuperValu Let’s GROW aims to promote food literacy education by providing students with the tools and knowledge to grow their own food. This hands-on experience not only teaches valuable skills but also fosters a greater curiosity and understanding of food production.
How can schools participate?
Primary schools across Ireland are encouraged to register online once registrations open. Please note: kits are limited, by registering your interest schools are not guaranteed a kit. Successful schools will be contacted.
