Following the huge success of the campaign over the past two years, we’re delighted that this year, SuperValu Let’s GROW will be delivering 2,100 growing kits to classrooms in Irish Primary Schools – our most yet!
At SuperValu and GIY, we share a passion for championing homegrown fruit and vegetables because the more local and sustainable our food is, the better it is for our communities, our health, and our planet. That’s why we’ve teamed up to bring you Let’s GROW, an exciting free initiative designed to inspire over 60,000 Primary school pupils a year across Ireland to discover the joy of growing their own food and build a deeper connection to what’s on their plate.
If your school is selected, you’ll receive a SuperValu Let’s GROW Classroom Kit delivered straight to your school in early March – just in time to kick off spring planting!
Each classroom kit includes:

Please note: By registering your interest it is not guaranteed that you will receive a kit. Once all submissions have been received, schools will be randomly selected. If your class has been selected to receive a classroom growing kit you will be notified by the end of February 2025.

What is SuperValu Let’s GROW?

What does the pack include?
The pack includes everything a class needs to start growing their own vegetables. It includes seeds, compost discs, pots for growing, and teacher resource packs with curriculum-linked lesson plans and activities.
How does SuperValu Let’s GROW benefit schools and students?
SuperValu Let’s GROW aims to promote food literacy education by providing students with the tools and knowledge to grow their own food. This hands-on experience not only teaches valuable skills but also fosters a greater curiosity and understanding of food production.
How can schools participate?
Primary schools across Ireland are encouraged to register online once registrations open. Please note: kits are limited, by registering your interest schools are not guaranteed a kit. Successful schools will be contacted.

The SuperValu Let’s GROW pack includes expert GIY resource booklets with growing guides, lessons, and activities. These resources are designed to support teachers in incorporating food growing and literacy education into their classrooms.
