Elias Darwish is an Information Technology director with over 20 years of experience leading global, multifunctional teams. He has a rich background in the tech industry, having worked at renowned companies such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, and most recently TikTok, where he focuses on enhancing trust and safety for platform users.

Elias joined the board of directors in 2023 out of a passion for local food, sustainability, and a strong belief in creating a shorter, more accessible, affordable, and healthier food supply chain. Originally from Lebanon, Elias grew up with a family deeply connected to their food sources, cultivating everything from olives to daily vegetables and seasonal fruits.

“My journey with GIY provided me with the tools to grow food in my own backyard and pass on these skills, principles, and experiences to my children,” says Elias, reflecting on his involvement. “I joined the board in 2023 to further GIY’s mission.”

In addition to his work with GIY, Elias also serves on the board of The Complex, an Irish charity dedicated to providing arts opportunities for all and supporting artists across various art forms.
