Sarah Browne

Education Coordinator

Sarah Browne is a chef and food educator with a strong interest in sustainable food systems, growing and community-based learning.

She grew up on a dairy farm in North Kerry, where she developed an early understanding of food production and the realities faced by farmers across Ireland. While the farm is conventionally run, seeing the pressures within that system sparked her curiosity about how food can be produced more sustainably. That questioning continues to shape her approach to food education today.

Trained as a chef, Sarah worked in several restaurants in Galway before developing a focus on botanical cuisine and ingredient-led, seasonal cooking. Her growing experience and interest in plant-forward food strengthened her belief in growing as a powerful tool for education, resilience and connection.

Alongside her practical experience, Sarah holds a Masters in Applied Culinary Nutrition from TU Dublin. Her passion centres on helping people build confidence around growing, cooking and understanding food in ways that support both personal and environmental wellbeing.
