Contract Length: 4th July to 16th September 2022

Remuneration: €15 per hour  (with an additional €1,000 PRB subject to achieved targets)

Location: GROW HQ, Waterford



We are looking for a passionate and driven Sponsorship Coordinator to deliver the sponsorship activities of Waterford Harvest Festival. The Sponsorship Coordinator will report to GIY’s Director of Development and will be responsible for securing sponsorship income and delivering sponsorship commitments.

GIY is an award-winning social enterprise that supports people around the world to live happier, healthier and more sustainable lives by growing some of their own food. We support people to develop ‘food empathy’ – a deeper connection with food and respect for the people and planet that put it on our tables. This year we have partnered with Harvest Festival to showcase and support Waterford’s diverse food culture and heritage, restaurants and eateries, and regional and seasonal producers.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Identifying a suitable sponsor pipeline
  • Outreach to potential sponsors, liaising with the Head of Development & Development Team
  • Communicating details of sponsorship packages and benefits as appropriate to potential sponsors
  • Responding to sponsorship queries and liaising with sponsors & GIY Team to ensure delivery of sponsorship packages in line with sponsor requirements and Festival sponsorship commitments
  • Securing sponsor commitment & payment
  • Supporting the Development Team, Communications Team and Festival Team with marketing & communications duties
  • Supporting the organisation of events, such as Programme or Festival launch
  • Supporting the Communication Team with the development of sponsor marketing campaigns
  • Supporting delivery of the Harvest Festival


Role Requirements

  • Business development, sales, marketing or similar qualification or relevant experience (preferably with events, hospitality, retail or tourism)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience within a deadline orientated environment
  • Great people skills and highly motivated
  • Available for immediate start
  • Available for work throughout the summer months in person and remotely
  • Events sponsorship experience not required, but favourable
