Body&Soul 23rd-25th June 2017

Body & Soul is a 3-day festival of music, art, food, theatre and more. It happens in the magnificent setting of Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath. Body & Soul is dedicated to being a greener festival with lots of environmentally friendly incentives such as car-pooling, recycling and compostable packaging.

GIY took part in Body&Soul as part of Food On Board, a collective of passionate feeders from the four corners of the island, brought together by Jack Crotty from the Rocket Man food company in Cork. Each dish was served on a wooden board, which was then washed and reused and all food waste was composted on site. Together with our partners Down2Earth Materials, Ireland's compostable packaging specialists, we set up a beautiful green chill-out area called Grow Full Circle. Here we chatted with festival goers about compostables and our message of food empathy and sowed seeds with kids. Karen gave a couple of talks as part of #SparklingConversations sponsored by Veuve Clicquot Champagne mc’d by the brilliant Dee Laffan.
